Website Niches That Will Earn Money Forever

There are various avenues to generate ideas on what to choose as niche topics to come up with content that people are searching for.

Several gurus will promote using Google trends to come up with ideas. This works if you want to get traffic quickly.

The trends data will tell you what people are looking for in the past few days. This is useful if you are a blogger who always updates. However, if you want a site that will earn money for you without touching it after it’s finished, there other sources of niche ideas that you can use to reveal what we call evergreen niches”.

Forever niches are niches that has regular readers over the months, years or even decades. It may take longer to create evergreen websites and you won’t immediately see traffic but once you are set, all you have to do is wait and watch the earnings come in. Build enough everfresh websites and you can get a
steady flow of earnings even you don’t work at it again.

To give you an example, I built a site about how to make a paper airplane. At the start, it barely earned a dollar a day. It was making only a few cents a day but I kept at it. I continued acquiring links back to the website. Now, after a few months of back link building, it’s already bringing in about $200/month. Note that the link building was almost half-hearted. I have a lot of other projects going on. I was able to really seriously and aggresively built links for the paper airplanes website only in in the beginning.

I build backlinks every so often whenever I feel like it. I wasn’t really certain if the niche would bring in good enough amounts of earnings. I just love
paper airplanes. So I continued promoting it even if it was just making very little. Just this month, it started contributing a significant amount and that will only increase as I continue to get better rankings in the search engines. I am now exerting more effort in increasing backlinks to the site.

If you look at it, it would appear that the niche isn’t a lucrative one. But consider this: my paper airplanes website will be producing money years and years from now even if I don’t even add anything to it. People will be searching for tutorials on how to make paper airplanes as long as there are young ones.

The site is NOT a site that was solely created for adsense. It is a useful website and visitors to the site come back repeatedly. Some even recommend it to others.

So that’s the first rule of identifying an evergreen niche. It has to be useful or at least entertaining. Visitors must want to go to your site even if there were no search engines.

Interestingly, having that in mind would get you better results in the search engines. The search engines measure how long a user stays on your site. If you have low quality content, your visitors won’t think twice to click on the back button. And it only takes a second to figure out if a website is useless.

We’ll discuss more about getting ideas or topics that you can use to put up evergreen websites. People search about how to do stuff on the net.

And there are websites dedicated to thousands of “how to” topics. You can go to those how to sites and search for the most viewed articles. If you find anything that interests you, go ahead and do your keyword research. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to outrank the pages on the older how to sites.

A favorite among internet marketers to generate niche ideas is Amazon.com. If people purchase products for their hobby, you will know that they are passionate about it and that they will want to get more information about that hobby. So go ahead and search amazon.com for items related to hobbies. Think about fishing, skydiving, chess, stamp collecting. There are literary thousands of hobbies you can write about.

One more handy page is Wikipedia’s list of hobbies. There are a lot of niches in that list and I’m sure you’ll find at least one that you’d like to work on. Selecting a topic that interests you will help you keep at it even if you’re still not seeing any significant results immediately. If you work on a topic that you don’t really like, it will be very easy for you to get discouraged.

So we have already discussed two sources of site topics. Generally, how to’s and hobbies will be evergreen topics. Another interesting source that could potentially give you traffic and income for several years are biographies. People will be interested in the life of well-known personalities. If there’s a well-known personality you’ve always wanted to learn about, this is a good chance to learn about that person and generate income from your research at the same time. There are even TV channels specializing in biographies and you can borrow ideas from those TV channels.

We have talked about three potential sources of evergreen niches. Of course there are a lot of other sources where you can get ideas to find everfresh niches. For now, the ones we have talked about should be enough to give you a headstart. Keep in mind that whatever information you acquired in this article is useless unless you go out and do something about it.

Take action and you’ll discover what works and what doesn’t and you’ll be on your way to online success.
